The Parole Advocacy Initiative is a collaboration between PPP and Fordham University School of Law to recruit, train and mentor volunteer attorneys to provide free, high-quality representation to parole applicants appealing parole denials. Appealing a parole denial is the only avenue to having a neutral party review the parole decision. By building and supporting a strong network of pro bono advocates, PAI advances coordinated litigation aimed at increasing transparency and just outcomes within the parole system. Volunteer attorneys advance decarceration as they advocate for people who have been unfairly and repeatedly denied parole.

PAI offers training, support and professional liability coverage to pro bono attorneys.
